We are proud of our school and our students. In our Arts Department, our students are always demonstrating their strong sense of artistry and community. Below you can read about past events or entries that our wonderful students have participated in over their time at GCVI.
FIELD TRIP: AGO (Art Gallery of Ontario)
We have been busy this semester with several great opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom. Students have had the opportunity to visit several amazing galleries. At the start of the semester senior students visited the Art Gallery of Guelph and see current contemporary artists. Both junior and senior students will have explored the AGO and taken in mystical revelations through their latest special exhibition.
We have also been fortunate to participate in Art Days hosted by the Arts Council of Guelph where students visit the Civic Museum and did some one on one workshops at the Boarding house with local artists.
FIELD TRIP: KW Gallery
Last week we explored cross curricularly with some geography students, the idea of human impact on the environment when we went to see Canadian photographer Edward Burtynsky's impactful photographs at the Kitchener Waterloo Gallery.
