Drawing & Painting (Grade 12- College/University)

Students will explore various techniques, materials and media.

 

Projects for this course may include but are not limited to: 

 

- Drawing excersizes and exploring the human figure in art 

 

- Three dimensional object drawing through classical illustration and realism


- Student directed design using the theory of The Seven Colour Contrasts

 
- Student directed design using watercolour techniques and colour theory 
 

 

AWM 4M

 

This course focuses on the refinement of students’ skills and knowledge in visual arts. Students will analyse art forms, use theories of art in analyzing and producing art, and increase their understanding of stylistic changes in modern and contemporary Western art, Canadian (including Native Canadian) art and art forms from various parts of the world.

 

Students will produce a body of work demonstrating a personal approach to drawing and painting.

 

Prerequisites: AWP 3M or AVI 3M
