Media Arts (Grade 10)
Students will explore various techniques, materials and media.
Projects for this course may include but are not limited to:
- An introduction to digital photography and Adobe Photoshop
- A triptych demonstrating portraiture and experimentation with dramatic lighting
- Advanced use of Adobe Photoshop manipulation into a text based portraiture directed from media influences
- Using found sounds to create an original soundscape
- Creating a storyboard and experimentation with video using stop motion animation
ASM 2O
This course emphasizes learning through practice; building on what students know; and introducing them to new ideas, materials and processes for artistic thinking and experimentation with different medias and programs.
Student learning will include the application of the elements and principles of design, incorporating the creative design process, the relationship between form and content, the basics of digital photography, an introduction to image manipulation in Adobe Photoshop and an exploration of sound and video techniques.
Students will also learn about the connections between their works of art and historical artwork in context.
